Frequently Asked Questions
I have a specific dietary/health issue. Can you work with that?
YES! In fact, this is what I specialize in. Whether you need a keto menu, paleo, gluten-free, sugar-free or just about anything, I can work within your parameters. This is why I make it a point to meet with each client to design a custom menu.
Can you ship to me?
Under Texas cottage food laws, I cannot ship products to you. However, we can arrange delivery of items like meal prep, or easy pick-up of farmers market items at the market!
What is your refund policy?
What equipment do you need me to have in my kitchen?
Just a standard, working stovetop, an oven, and some cleared countertop and fridge space. You don't need a fancy setup.
I bring my own professional kit, including my knives and specialized cookware, o you don't have to worry about a thing.
What if I have pets in my home?
I love pets, so they are absolutely welcome! All I ask is that they are kept out of the kitchen area while I'm cooking, just for their safety around hot pans and to keep everything completely sanitary. Other than that, they are part of the family, so no worries at all.
Do I need to be home while you're cooking?
Yes. I can make many items in my kitchen, but anything involving meat must be prepared in your home.
Are there any cleaning supplies I need to provide?
Not at all. I bring everything needed to clean up after the meal, and my goal is to leave your kitchen exactly how I found it. That being said, if you have an accessible broom I can grab, it’s always appreciated!
Professional Chef Services
How should I store and reheat the meals you prepare?
Each meal I prepare for you will come with simple reheating instructions.
Do you have insurance and professional culinary certifications?
Absolutely. I hold a culinary science degree from Le Cordon Bleu and am WSET II certified in Spirits and Sake. Cawood Culinary is also fully licensed and insured, so you can relax knowing your home and your guests are in safe, professional hands.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Because I custom-source fresh, 100% organic ingredients specifically for your menu, planning is tailored to the service type:
For Meal Prep Services: Please give me at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, as I begin securing your ingredients right after that window.
For Private Chef Events: Because these dates are held exclusively for you and involve extensive prep, I require at least 7 days' notice to apply your deposit to a future date.
Cancellations or changes made outside of these windows are non-refundable.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards via Square, and direct bank transfer payment via Zelle.
Farmers Market
Are there any additional fees beyond the service fee and grocery costs?
Generally, no—transparency is really important to me, so your quote will clearly break down the service fee and the estimated grocery costs.
The only exceptions would be if your event requires renting special equipment (like extra tables or specific glassware) or if you are located outside of my standard Greater Houston service area, which might incur a travel fee. We will always discuss and agree on any of these details before booking, so there are never any surprises.
